Sparta Township recently received a grant to replant trees in Greenwood Cemetery. Over the past few years, several of the large maple trees that have shaded the graves for decades have fallen or been taken down because of damage. To preserve the peaceful, shady atmosphere, we have planted new maples, thanks to a grant from Consumers Energy's Community Tree Planting Grant Program. The cost of purchasing and planting the new trees was entirely paid for by the grant. Thank you, Consumers Energy!
